  • Adaptation of the American magazine "Experience Life" to a digital reading experience, using a responsive web that works equally in a mobile, tablet or desktop interface.

BRIEFING

The rise of the digital press has seen a tremendous peak over the last years. The audience is increasing as Millennials grow older, demanding all sorts of content.

The best magazines and newspapers had already launched their digital version in early 2000, but it has been only in the last 5 years that the digital experience started to take its own shape.

With numbers increasing, publishers are prompted to deliver quality content along with a great digital product for readers to experience a different but still unique act of opening up a magazine and dive into it.

RESEARCH

GOAL:

  • Know and understand people’s reading habits and how is the “Experience Life” magazine.

RESEARCH METHODS

Secondary research: online reports and “Experience Life” magazine analysis.

“Kelsey wants to get information on personal growth and social change issues to promote a more empathic attitude with society”

"She needs to access the information in a clear and simple way to not feel overwhelmed when reading the text.”

THE PROBLEM

Kelsey needs to get concise information on personal care and social development issues because she feels overwhelmed by the amount of text and finds it difficult to extract the most important.

How can we do so that Kelsey can extract the most important ideas from the text and thus be able to obtain concise information on personal care and social development issues?

THE SOLUTION

Experience Life in Spanish is a web of contents about personal care and social development for readers motivated by healthy lifestyles and sustainability values that offers audiovisual and editorial material in a clear and simple way.

CREATIVE CONCEPT

USER FLOW

For this MVP we want to be sure that the users can accomplish these user flows:

Reading an article

In the first flow, Kelsey would like to read and article related to society and sustainability. So, she goes from Home to a specific article but gets an error state screen. She tries again, but now she wants to find the article through the categories. When she find the article, it shows first and introduction with a summary, the keywords related to the article, and the videos that the article contains. She decides that want to read the whole article. When she finished, goes back to Home.

Searching an article

In the second flow, Kelsey wants to find an article that already knows, so she goes to the search field and type the word “food”, and gets suggested searches, and also recommended articles related to that search. She goes directly to the article, and read it.

PROTOTYPE

First user flow

Second user flow.

In these one, we decided to add an animation to focus the attention of the reader in the “Read article” button.

RESPONSIVE WEB

NEXT STEPS

Article rating: give the possibility to the user to rate an article.

Share content in social media.

KEY LEARNINGS

User-centered design, not personal style: design with the user in mind and forget our interests and personal liking.

Think beyond the ideal flow with an state error screen.

Design with the creative concept always in mind.
